My grandpa would tell me stories of his dogs and my dad's dogs.
He would color them up to excite me, and I imagine that was the beginning.
My grandpa and dad, only had a few dogs in their lifetime as they just had pets and kept one dog until it died of old age, then got another.
As a small boy, I met a friend of my Dad's named George Royce.
George was a well known dogman, as was his nephew Phil Aris.
Since these gentlemen couldnt rid me of climbing the fence and hanging around, they put me to work cleaning stools and walking dogs.
Phil Aris and I were partners in the dogs over 3 decades, until his death, Christmas of 96.
I dont believe in breeding, due to the over population of the breed.
16mos ago I did make 2 breedings, to save a bloodline that Im fond of.
When I do breed, I keep every dog in the litter unless I would give one to a friend who I trust to give the dog the proper life.
