The only lead you'll ever need.

It's my new website and business.

I never had planned on selling the leads I made. I made one for Ella and then another because I wanted different lengths. My friend who fosters saw mine and wanted some for her dogs. Then I got the idea that since I cannot foster because Ella is so dog aggressive, that I could make these leashes and donate them to our local rescue organization. So I did. Then my trainer saw them and said we should sell them at our local doggy day afternoon (it's like a dog fair).

I got to looking for different rope companies to get different diameter ropes and found my rope supplier.

No, our rope will NOT rope burn your hands. It's high quality marine rope and mountain climbing rope. We use the best hardware we can find and we have now found an awesome hardware manufacturer. We got some samples in today of stainless steel bolt snaps and I have some samples coming of some nickel plated iron swivel eye latch snaps (what most call a "bull snap", though a bull snap is something entirely different). We'll be offering these as hardware upgrades on our site.

I've read horror stories of hardware breaking at the MOST inconvenient times (and we'd be SCREWED if Ella's hardware broke on her leash because she's a fuzzy mass murderer), so this is why we are seeking out (and believe to have found) the absolute best hardware available.

We are also going to be adding control leads (pictured under "coming soon" on our products site) and we have some other ideas rolling around in our heads. This has lead us to ordering O rings.

I will be adding, this weekend, our two-headed lead (not sure what we're going to call it). What it is: you want a twelve foot lead to allow your dog to roam or give him/her some room to walk ahead, but you also want to be able to have a 6 ft. lead (or a shorter lead). We bolt snap both ends, and put an o-ring on the rope so that if you want a looped handle on your lead when you are walking your dog on twelve foot lead, you can connect one bolt snap to the dog's collar then connect the other bolt snap to the O-ring to make a looped handle. Then if you want a 6 ft lead, you can connect both bolt snaps to the dog's collar creating a folded lead that you can hold onto. Does that make sense? hahahaha. You'll all know what I'm talking about when I add it to my website.

So, please, if you have a second, check us out!

Thanks!

that was you???
YAY!!!

He's making your lead right now :D

I stole the idea from Lisa (from Collar Mania) to do the "win a free leash" thing. Once a month we'll do a drawing of a name from all the names of those who have purchased that month, and they'll win a free leash of their choice!

Yeah, I'm cheap and scandalous to steal her idea, but she was ok with it.

I LOVE that orange. And I'm not an orange person, but that is quite striking. A LOT of people like that orange mountain rope.

We're getting in a 50 lb. box of assorted (random, basically) ropes within the next couple of days. I'm excited and cannot wait to see what we get!

It'll ship off tomorrow.

and here's a pic of the lead I made for Maryellen.

Do you guys like bull snaps?
I've been going back and forth about keeping them on hand for orders. Personally, to me, they're almost as guaranteed (besides a locking quick link and o-ring set up, which we will be selling too!) a piece of hardware as you can get because you have to PULL that piece out to open it. It will NOT open by being pushed on accident.

I like them.

Anyway, the pic. (AND I LOVE this rope)

Are you going to have them in pink? Darlene only wears pink. :) I can wait to order hers, if you think you might expand your color line. Thanks~

I have my rope supplier keeping their eyes open for any pink that comes through, but as of right now, it's not looking like pink is coming in anytime soon
I gripe at them EVERYTIME I call to place an order! Ella wears A LOT of pink, too.
Now I've resorted to a LOT of purple with her. Which I didn't realize how...nice of a color purple is and how well it looks on her until recently.

I know what you mean. People get on me for putting pink on her, but I ALWAYS have people thinking she's a boy. And she's all black (well, dark, dark, brown in some places) so pink looks good on her. Actually, a lot of the lighter colors look really good on her.

Inara always gets referred to as "he" as well, so maybe bright orange will help...although she gets called "he" even when wearing pink... people are so oblivious sometimes!

Oh yeah, and draw my name for a free leash!!! :D

Two new products being added soon.

Ella's fool-proof lead (we're not sure if that's what we're going to be calling it). No hardware accidents here.

Image

And:
Lily's Lead
Image

This lead has two bolt snaps at each end and an O-ring on the rope.
This is a longer lead, no shorter than 10 ft. You can either use it as a 10 ft. lead and clip one bolt snap to the dog's collar and connect the other bolt snap to the O-ring creating a "looped" handle. OR you can connect both bolt snaps to the dog's collar creating a nice 5 ft. handle and double reassurance that your lead won't disconnect from your dog's collar. OR, for those who might collar AND harness their dog, you can connect one end to the collar and one to the harness and still have a nice handle to hold onto and control your dog with.

let me know what you guys think, please.

Just a note on the "fool proof" lead; that's the kind of carabeener thing I used to use for Cleo, and she did manage to get it unscrewed a couple of times. She used to like to roll around on the ground a couple of times every walk, and if it wasn't really cranked tight, it came loose.

have you considered one like this?
