If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Got in this guy and two others yesterday - this guy had one huge fur mat encircling his ENTIRE tail. He had fur mats up one side and down another, and was FILTHY :(
(Thanks-again-to Marinepits for the grooming kit!!!)
Not current on shots, I had to goom him here.

SLIGHTLY better today after the grooming - but those folds by his nose are wet so I had to wash them and rinse them w/saline to get any soap out. They looked almost infected (yeast!?) And he was trying to bite me. It looked as if they only scissored him for his entire two years of life.

So washing them was probably good to do right?? I did make sure to squirt his whole face with the sterile saline to try to rinse it all off. I dried it well too. I figure when he gets neutered next week that we can ask the vet to trim the rest of the fur out of the crevices by his nose...

Smartie Pants! :neener: I already know that (now).

Did someone own him and not care for him or he was a stray and you don't know?

Someone owned him. AND the two others, a Pom-Tzu and a Cocker/Beagle(?) mix.
None are altered, two of them are 2yrs. old and the other is 4. None are current on vaccines, and he donated the crates, well TWO crates are held together w/bungie cord. Since they aren't current I can't take them to a groomer. I was tempted let me tell you. The Shih Tzu, Bailey (its a boy) freaked when I started the clippers. Thank God Jeff was home, I'd never have gotten it done!
I told him in the beginning of May that I'd help him find them homes - but he had them "for sale". He contacted me yesterday AM and asked if I'd take them.
Well we took 'em but man they need work :(

with yeast the key is to keep the area clean and dry, it thrives in moist environments, such as in between the toes, in the folds of skin in the "armpits" and by the "private" parts, in folds of skin on the face... etc

I HATE bitey dogs...
I'm glad it was you, I may not have had the patience...

Aww I felt so sorry for him - Buffy, the 13yr. old Cockapoo (who will be PTS in her owner's arms in 2 weeks - long story but she's not here to stay - UNLESS a home pops up within that 2 weeks...) tolerated being clipped REALLY well. She's been clipped her entire LIFE.
When I saw Bailey's reaction I KNEW he had never been done! I mean - the dog was a walking fur mat!
He was just protective - but calmed down as the deed progressed ;)
