Hello PNWPR

The WCBBC have chosen to donate a portion of our funds from the show this month from Raffle Donations and fun event fees to the PNWPBR. We would like to pay you in the form of a check to the rescue if I could get the physical or P O Box address to forward it to. Our show is on May 19th this month in camas Washington. You are more than welcome to bring some flyers out of the adoptable pit bulls. We also mentioned your name in the recent article in the post record as a local PIT BULL RESCUE.

http://www.wcbba.net/index.html Is their website? Is this mostly just a american bully registry who wants to keep calling them pit bulls? It's surprising that they would want a rescue there dipping into their business.

Are these not pretty much the same people that you were always complaining about in your posts? So now you are going to go to one of their events? It should be interesting I will give you that lol

. I'm not sure that it will be worth it. True it says no pups are to be sold there. But honestly what stops the people from meeting up right after it and selling off the pups?

Are you bringing any of the rescues out there? So what made you go from complaining about them in several posts to going to one of their events? Are you sure you are going to be able to handle that? Goodluck with it all, you might need it lol

No, none of the rescue dogs will be attending.... they require choke chains and I will not put one on our dogs.

and Yvette IM right here... you could always ASK Ellena how Ellena plans to educate people. :greenWave:

Ellena doesnt give up on people like *ahem* some people do. Ellena has decided that going to an event like that and handing out brochures and flyers and business cards COULD stop ONE person from buying a puppy from one of these people... and if Ellena succeeds in doing so, then thats all that matters.

Ahhh sideline critics with too much time on their hands. Gotta love it.

Whether or not you like what some people are trying to do to the breed we are all still in the same boat....We own and love our Pit Bulls.

Division within the breed will only help the enemy win.

I would take the money for the cause in a heart beat. And who knows, you might be able to educate some of the people there.

Well, this is part of what I posted on the other board.

I am sure if one came across Ellena's path & needed help she would not hesitate to do so. I can see her point in being there for that reason AND to educate about what the APBT REALLY is.....and it AIN'T that. Plus, if she picks up some exposure & a few donations along the way all the better IMO. let them donate NOW to what she will have a hand in cleaning up LATER. Big picture.......

It's great that they want to give money to a rescue... but...

taking their money legitimizes their organization, it also gives them an out for thier critics, because they can now say "but we support rescue!!!"

I'm sure that Ellena would help one of these dogs if it needed help, and I think everyone here would as well. None of this crap is the dogs fault.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I have a hard time believing that anyone who thinks this is a "correct Pit Bull"

will have any interest in a dog like this:

They can call them "American Bullies" or whatever they want, but I didn't see a healthy dog in a single one of those pictures. They are huge, most are overweight, and more than a few look like they will be crippled from joint problems before their 4th birthday.

excellent post Michelle. Which is exactly the point that was made on another forum.

.......How can anyone take money from these people and try to justify it? I don't care how you color it........your not only sending the message that it's ok, your actually ENDORSING it.

We are not talking about whether someone would or wouldn't help the ACTUAL dogs. Who wouldn't?

I just have a problem endorsing these breeders and clubs.....Why do you think that Dave Wilson gives SO MUCH money to rescues? :wink:

I agree with you completely.

Yeah I try to post when I have a chance. I mostly post on misc subjects because you don't have to keep up with them as much. I probably wouldn't have responded to this thread on another forum since I already had on one where Ellena could read it. But somebody requested I post it on a forum she would be more likely to see it on.

The whole thing is they are using Ellena's rescue to act like they support rescue. They are hoping by doing that it will make them look better to some people. Which will hopefully make them some more money in the end. I'm sure Ellena would rescue one of these dogs if they came through the shelter. It's not the dogs that I have a problem with they can't help how they were bred. But I don't see how you can justify going and showing your support to these people.

And that board (website) advertises for BYBs with easty-westy breeding dogs. You cannot seriously think you are going to educate them?? Not when their dogs go for upwards of $800-1200?

Why don't you address the fact that your ENDORSING these breeders? Don't flatter yourself and think that they want you there to "educate" them......They want you on the payroll so that they can claim that they are doing a great service to the breed by supporting a rescue.

Awww Devin, you totally forgot my favorite picture. At first glance, we have puppy humping. But look closer.

Did you notice shoes-on-the-wrong-feet girl? Either she's got her legs crossed in a really wierd way that you can't see in the picture...or her shoes are TOTALLY on the wrong feet. I don't care who you are, that sh!ts funny!

Ellena, I sent (actually DROVE) that mom dog and puppies to your rescue so I DO have interest in YOUR RESCUE and what is going on with it.
I won't try to tell you how to do it but I'm sure busy taking notes for future possible pit rescues and placements.

Good luck with that, cuz we know we're all fighting tooth and nail for pit bulls to put into our programs. Especially those that we have to drive over the mountains to go get.
