can't see elevator bar

Michelle - I don't if it's the settings on my monitor or what BUT I can BARELY see the right elevator bar in any given window and constantly click above or below it (missing it) and the page shoots up or down because the light gray of the e-bar is so light on the light background. Any way to darken it a shade or two or should I try to adjust my monitor?
