RIP Staffy girl

Postby msvette2u » February 14th, 2007, 6:42 pm

So the story is that she killed something by her home and someone said she'd growled at them or something. She was pregnant and only a week or so away from having puppies.
I'm still contracted to euth. the dogs declared dangerous by the county. And the euth. order had come.
I don't see many dogs like this, and she was not a pit bull, but more of a Staffy look, she looked identical to this, only with a diamond of white between her eyes instead of this thin stripe of white.

We named her "Diamond" or "Beauty" (or maybe both) as the sedative took effect and when it had, her sad, too-short life then came to an end.
It was not her fault. It's never the dogs' faults.
RIP Beautiful Diamond and all of your puppies too.

Poor girl. She died in loving hands though. poor pups never had a chance at life but also never had a chance to end up in a bad home. RIP girl!

The grief in the shelter today was palpable despite it being just me, my husband and Steve (the new Code enforcement officer). It is always heartrending but today, with her so immensely pregnant...

At the shelter I used to work at if a pregnant mom was to be euthanized we did it right away before she had pups and then we would ahve to euth the pups too which was even harder!!

Oh geez. No kidding that is so sad. The one time we had to euth. a Mom, and she had puppies, we wound up bringing them home - they were 4 weeks old...
