Alamogordo has recorded its second pit bull attack in less than a week.

According to Alamogordo Department of Public Safety reports, a woman who lives on the 2400 block of Duran was attacked by a pit bull on the 2300 block of the same street.

She sustained injuries to her right forearm and left buttock, and required medical attention.

A man who lives on the 2300 block of Duran, the address from where the police call concerning the attack originated, came to the woman's aid and was subsequently attacked.

He received "significant injuries" to his body and also required medical attention, according to DPS

The dog was taken into custody by Animal Control officers. Criminal charges are pending against the dog's owner.

A woman and her two grandchildren were attacked by a pit bull on Saturday in a separate incident. Charges are pending against the owner of that dog as well.
