Veronica

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Well we named her Veronica and took her off our website
She's officially our dog!
Oh and she knows "sit up and beg" although there's no command for it!

Her shoulder is almost healed, and her left eye is doing really good. She was spayed last Wednesday!

Egads. I don't want to say! lol
7 if you count our "forever" foster, Smitty
But I always say, Copper was our unplanned dog ;)
I'd have quit ages ago if not for those two sillies! Luckily all they do is sleep all day or ride around in the car with us!

not to be a downer, just curious, are there bylaws in your area that give you a limit? Here the limit is 3 and then you need some kind of permit or license...
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

It helps that half of them are smaller (under 30lbs)!
Yes and no, about the bylaws - there's a limit supposedly but since the county has no animal control, and nobody follows it. Besides, half these are county dogs so they are just happy I help them "clean up" so to speak ;) There's such a huge problem with stray animals out here in the county that many homes wind up with 5 or more dogs, and nobody says anything because it's one less dog for the Sheriff dept. to worry about. :?
When I was doing animal control for the PD, and to an extent, even now, I still do animal control FOR the county, I learned for a fact they do not enforce ANYTHING in the way of animals. They won't even prosecute a cruelty case should one present itself. :(
The only reason they ever go out on animal calls is if a dog bites someone or another animal, while off it's property, or kills livestock, or gets hit by a car or is found otherwise injured and they cannot logistically/safely shoot it on scene. Then they call Prosser, who calls me and I go put it down.
The mom dog we have right now, Sholo? The owner of the house where she was abandoned called the Sheriff dept. and they went out there and did NOTHING, about the dogs OR cats. That's when the area rescues have to step in...
If we actually open a formal rescue on our own property (we rent right now) I will build a building/kennels and help county w/Animal Control and then apply for a license/permit.
