When Bostons were born, they were pit bulls

Post your pics and vids here.

If you disregard the AKC's version of how the Boston Terrier came to be, you'll be able to find the truth. Bred as smaller fighting dogs, they are all bulldog....i.e......miniature pit bull. Here's a great postcard from the early 1900's that shows just how much of a pit bull they were.

He is 6 years old and the result of a broken family. The parents split, she cannot take him and he doesn't want him...so I took the surrender. I'll get pics up as soon as I take him in.

For now, he's a foster, but if he works in the family, he'll be mine.

I won't speculate on that....but I'll tell you that I would never have taken in a surrender if the wife wasn't a friend of one of our members. I feel good knowing that the dog I once wanted to buy I can now rescue.

I love boston terriers ... my parents had them , I was around them for 13 years ... the female was 13 when she pasted and the male was 12 exactly a month later he pasted after she did ...

She was 25lbs , a little cutie pie , and he was 50lbs and a meathead lol...

Dave, isn't your BT a bit dog aggressive? Are you going to crate and rotate or something?

It's funny that I read this thread just now. I spent all weekend with Boston Terrier Rescuers and a plethora of the little bulldogs :D . It seems that a lot of their traits are similar to pit bulls too. They're really high energy dogs, though, eh? You hear stories of people leaving Bostons together unattended with results similar to what you'd expect from pitties left unsupervised. :( They're pretty tenacious little guys.

Oohhh...never leave them alone..it's your loss. Yes, they're very close to pitties, both in energy and strength.

Charles, she has gotten a lot better these days. I am crating and rotating as much as needed when he gets here, but Ghia has been perfect since she grew out of her dumb puppy stage. I took her to the pet expo this weekend...and she was great with every little or big dog. I'm not sure if it was really ever dog aggression, per say. I'm convinced she's just so used to being able to play rouh with Ralph..a pit 3x her size, that she expected the same results from every other dog she met. Still, we'll wait and see.
