Terrified...

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Our vet called today and said there is a Chihuahua who needs our help. The owner said 8 mos?? We arrived and found the above...she's still got puppy teeth!
Her owner was moving and the new apt. did not allow pets apparently. Either way they left her w/our vet.
And she's so afraid she won't even eat, barely looks around, sits and shakes. She's gradually calming down but I think it will take a day or three anyway...wish us luck.
We named her Sienna - she goes for a spay next week.

Well the turkey we were eating for dinner was too tempting, she DID eat some of that. She'll probably be one of those "one person" dogs...

Chihhuahua's are hard dogs. All thos scared ones that we have taken in have been one person dogs. They take so long to gain trust and it can be easily broken by doing something too quick.

Good luck with her. Hopefully her age is on your side! She is cute and an easy adopter!!

Thanks, oddly enough the adults have come around quicker! I attribute that to lack of socialization :| She's calmer today and did eat and drink water so those are good signs!

Thanks - here's my die-hard "big dog fan" hubby comforting the little smidgen of a dog now. He was giving me blow-by-blow descriptions, "She's stopped shivering finally", "she looked up at me, finally, she's starting to relax". lol

Wow we have always had better luck with the younger ones that adults. We have had quite a few too... about 12 in the past 7 months!!!!(might be leaving out one or two but its hard to remember all of them)

Its always cute when the men partake in socializing. Myboyfriend lets me know everyday how ellie is doing with him..lol

This is our 3rd Chi I think. I've not actually had one this young so we'll see...we know, so far, she doesn't like crapping outside

Vette,
Personally issues aside between the two of us, I have a very interested person for this pup.

She's a single mom, well established in her career (10 years). Her son is 15 (I believe, might be 16 though).

She's been looking for a Chi (she calls them Yip-Yips) for over a year or so.

Let me know if there is anything we can work out, I can put her in contact with you if you want to see if anything can be worked out.

Hey it's all about the dogs. :)
If she's in CA I have adopted out of state but normally have the adopter pay for the costs of transportation (if a flight for instance).
We are in E. WA, so keep that in mind.
It's a very young dog, she still has puppy teeth.
She will be spayed next Wednesday.

PM some contact info on how things would go, and what the process would be, all of the usual stuff (keep in mind I have no idea what the usual is) and I'll pass it along.

I'm going to see her on the Train for the ride home, so I'll talk with her then.
