I truely feel blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the US with such a short distance to get to the "deep woods".
I am a mushroom hunter in the spring and the fall, and my bones ache to be out in the winter,,,,but why??? Nothing is "popping" right now.
We have had a very mild winter,,and it has been fairly warm,so about a month ago we started walking ,,,so maybe,,,just maybe I might find some winter "Oysters"....But no.....
But we did find were some beautiful sights! It's just Bells and I,,,we go for @ 6 miles round trip....NO ONE is out there but us,,,she has her freedom to run and chase till her heart is content...Me,,,,I get the silence I love,,,no sound of anything man made...Last week I invited a friend to join me,,,,so we got some pix (I don't have a working camera)...
Our first trip out we heard what sounded like a baby crying turned out to be an Eagle,,,,well when you see one there is usually another......We have seen up to 8 pairs on one walk!!!!! and a couple of their offspring.....One of the times I looked over the side of a hill down to a creek @ 20 yards down,,,,,it looked red ,,,turns out it was stuffed full of spawning Salmon,,,,they were nose to tail fin!
Then the hawks,,,tons of them. Nature at it's finest...It was a private show.
Anyway,,,just some random thoughts,,,and if there is anyone here who lives close and would like to join us (Bella is extremely dog friendly,,,so bring your dog if they have the same attitude,,,she likes playmates) please do! Here are a couple of pix.
See the Eagle?
See the Hawk?
Look how still it is,,,the bog is a mirror.
See me and Bells? (she's the white dot waaaay ahead of me)
And just my favorite girl.....Now,,,,and in her youth....
