I know you want her, who wouldn't?

But it's my grass she's eating

My yard she's strutting across

Me she's looming over

Me who's threatening to glue those danged ears

And she's just plain staying here, okay?

Her ears aren't terrible, but they're half-prick, and while that's acceptable in the standard, in actual practice, rose ears are preferred. So, as soon as I pick up some glue, I'll try to get them rosed.

It could be challenging, as one SBT breeder told me it takes about 45 seconds to do the ear gluing, and Tess can't hold still for that long.

Worst case scenario, she'll probably be finishable with the half-prick ears, but rose ears would make it faster. And there's a possibility she'll be specials quality if she has the rose ears.

What a little cutie - she has that same expression that my Birdie gets just before she creates some kind of havoc - like playing dogzilla through the train set.

Aw, come on. Set a precedent for all the half-prick SBTs out there who gaze longingly at their rose-eared brethren.

Don't get me wrong, she's a cute pup, but don't ya think it's a bit early to be making such bold statements? Sounds pretty damn arrogant if you ask me. Oh well, you're not asking me.

Note the word "possibility". That would mean "not for sure". If I said she will be specials quality, that would certainly be arrogant, but stating that there is a possibility is just... hopeful. And realistic, considering who her sire is, and that she appears to resemble him. And that much more experienced Stafford folks than I have been ooing and ahing over her pictures since she was a few days old.

Not sure I'd want to special a dog anyway, but I like to keep my options open. And if she turns out like it's looking she might, I won't want to spay her until after she's been bred, and that won't be for some years yet, so having the option of taking her into the breed ring now and then might be nice.

Of course, if she falls completely apart and doesn't come back together, that will no longer be an issue. But, I'd be an idiot not to prepare for all possibilities.
