Truman needs healing thoughts!

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Postby iluvk9 » December 6th, 2010, 7:05 pm

Truman has been limping on and off. A few years ago, Vet was watching his left knee. Knee was a little lax but xrays didn't show much.

He is on Rimadyl for 2 weeks, and will be leash walked. He is also on Doxycycline, in case it is lymes... he went in for a front limp a year ago. His titers will be back in a few days.

If he doesn't improve it will be xray time so he is also getting CBC w/chemistry.

Truman can forget his Christmas gift from me. He just cost me a small fortune.

Good thoughts for the pony. Hope it isn't anything serious.

My Vet is still amazed at Truman's size. And the collar he got from Collarmania. Vet says it is large enough to be one of those belts the prize fighters win.

Oh, pony. That's a no. You can't be limping. And it can't be Lyme either.

I said so. Now obey.

Thank you, friends! He did get a shot of Rimadyl to start him off, and this morning he isn't "as limpy". But you know how you over-analysis when you are looking for something? Maybe it is just in my mind. 8)

Aw! Black labs always get my good thoughts! River was doing the very same thing this summer. Took a couple of months and a lot of rest and supplements and Rimadyl before she knocked it off.

Hopefully it's nothing, but I know what you mean. Every little move looks like "something" even when it's "nothing"...and vice versa.

Vet just called with bloodwork. Truman does not have lymes, Rocky Mt. fever or erhlichiosis (spelling?) which are the tick borne diseases in my area.

His blood work in general is fine, too. Organs are all functioning normally.

Vet always has me rate him 1-10 on "how he is doing", so if he was a 10 yesterday, today he is a little better at an 8.

Rimadyl for 10 days and then we will see if xrays are needed.

He is such a big lug. :heartbeat:

Glad it's not any of the tick-borne ickies!

Get better you big ole lug!
