Sophie

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Postby pitbullmamaliz » March 24th, 2010, 7:34 pm

I just dropped Sophie off at the vet for her big day tomorrow! She'll be getting spayed, hernia fixed and mammary mass removed. So think lots of good benign thoughts for the mass that it's not a tumor.

I would have guessed Sophie weighed about 65 lbs. Holy crap she only weighs 54 lbs. She's just built like a tank! She was appropriately oohed and aahed over and didn't look back at all as she was being led away! Little traitor. lol

I can call around noon tomorrow to check on her, so think lots of good thoughts for an uneventful surgery. :)

Yay for no more extra un-needed parts!

Are you getting the mammary mass sent to histology?

I dropped her off last night because I start work at 7 and they don't open until 8.

Isa, they said they'll send the mass off if the Doc has any concerns about it at all.

Thanks for the good thoughts, all!

I've been keeping them separate but they're both acting really good towards each other. Inara's really interested but not in a riled up way.

Hoping that the mass is benign and not histology worthy, as most mammary masses... And also hoping for no cone to go home with! Is she a licker?

She doesn't seem like she would be. She's so mellow! I mean, for god's sake they sent Inara home without a cone! I think they try to avoid them when possible. :)

I just called to check on Miss Sophie and they said she did great and is resting comfortably. She actually did not have a mass at all, so that's good. They did say she was REALLY in heat - I hadn't noticed anything so maybe it started last night? Or maybe she's just clean? I don't know... :|

They also said that she is such an absolute sweetheart but so ridiculously strong! lol
