Oh my gosh, Christine, I am just now seeing this!

Sending lots of good thoughts to Faust and yourself, but it sounds like he is going to be just fine. Way to beat the big bad parvo little guy. :cheer:

Faust is HOME!!! I picked him up a little while ago... :D :D :confetti: :woowoo: :bounce:

Image

He looks a little bedraggled and dirty, but he's doing much, much better.
He came home w/tons of meds and a case of special food. If he continues to improve for the next five days he'll officially be "out of the woods". We go back to the vet in two weeks unless there are complications.
He is "down" to 20 pounds, and I can definitely see/feel his ribs... but he's already full of piss & vinegar again.
He was SO excited to see me that he peed all over my shoes. :giggle:
His arrival at home turned into a 20-minute lovefest, where he was closely inspected/sniffed/licked by Sepp and Daisy. More exitment, more peeing... :rolleyes2: lol
He also had the zoomies in the yard for the first time, and then collapesed into a happy heap on the porch.

Thanks again, everyone, for rooting for him!!! It made ALL the difference!!! :)

great!! :D

remember to take it slowly (you'll have to "remind" him a lot!) and I know how you'll feel about the food, but use it! It will help his intestines heal and cope with digesting food again.
ok, so I'll stop preaching :rolleyes2:

:bounce: its AWESOME that he made it home!

Yup, I've been "reminding" him all afternoon... hard to believe that's the same puppy who could barely move two days ago. lol

They gave us Hills Prescription I/D, but I think Faust was convinced he was done w/"hospital food" when he got home. I could tell that he was hungry but he wouldn't touch the stuff... :rolleyes2: :|

I ended up mixing in a tablespoon of RAW "slurry" for taste, and that worked like a charm. :D

Woohoooo!!!!!! Go Faust!!!!!!

Now remind him that he still needs to be careful, like your vet said he still has 5 days to go through before we can all party for real!!

Will do, Chea... :)

My vet is closed for the holiday, and so all the patients have to be transferred to a different 24-hour care clinic (which I personally find really odd... and cumbersome... :| ).
Since Faust was able to switch to oral meds and keep them down I decided to bring him home.
Bland food, lots of crate rest... we can do that here just as well.

I didn't realize just how MUCH I've missed that little face.

you could also try offering him blended boiled chicken and rice, but at this point, cooked might be better then RAW

I know, its like the rest period after a spay or neuter. I remember 2 weeks of HELL with Oscar, zoomies all over the place and BAD BAD behavior :rolleyes2:
At least Faust is a little younger and doesn't have quite as much drive...
