
If the tail is still split, depending on the health of the skin and how much, if any, of the underlying tissue is exposed, she may need a small piece amputated. But, let's hope not!

What I was feeling was a giant scab that was stuck in her fur. I'm glad I went though because the Doc gave me antibiotics for her since it had obviously been bleeding a bit. So WHEW! The Doc also got a couple mats out of her fur for me. And my little bowling ball weighed in at 10.5 lbs.
