Dentyne

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

I just got home and saw that Cooper had somehow gotten into a pack of Dentyne Spearmint gum. I looked it up online and it doesn't have xylitol in it, but the first ingredient was sorbitol- does this have the same effect that the xylitol has?? I read the post on the effect that xylitol can have and am freaking out a bit. Neither of my roommates are home so I don't know who's it was or how long ago he may have gotten into it.

Do you know how much he ate? Maybe call your vet?

Call your vet or an emergency vet asap. I'm not sure what effects sorbitol would have, if any.

I managed to get in touch with my vet. They weren't answering when I first got home, but they said he would be fine. He probably ate about 4 sticks. The vet said it didn't have the same effect as xylitol though. I think it gave him some extra energy, but no change other than that.

That's great news! Now, maybe he'll blow bubbles out his butt.
