I had just read the SOS pad post so thought to check and they were OK. Good refill...what's odd is, he tenses up when I touch him at all from his ribs to his rear end - but on the SIDES of his body, not the spine. His...flanks look funny. They are bulgy...I can't explain it. I'm so worried he's got an infection or some tumor. He isn't peeing blood and until last night after we got home was doing actually, seemingly "OK" not better but holding his own.
I went to bed with him last night and he slept as comfortably as I figure he could. He's doing the same this morning. Resting OK but if I touch him he tenses up.
I don't KNOW - I can't figure out what is wrong - his abdomen gets "tense" if you feel it but when he's relaxed it comes down loose so I didn't think it was bloat or something. When he was asleep, I touched his tummy and he tensed it up again when he realized I was touching it.
He goes in at 8am. I'm going to ask them if I can stay for a while with him, if they can't get right to him. He's stressed out enough without putting him in a kennel and making him wait...
I thought last night he was going to die. I called Jeff and he didn't really want me to take him in but I told him, if he gets worse, I'm taking him. I really thought he might die and I didn't want him to go in pain like that...I mean - he went under the bed because I set him in the bedroom and I said Wait here and I'll lift you up, but as I came in here to turn out the light I heard him trying to get up, so I said "No, wait!" and I went back in and he was under there. I literally could not get him out, for a treat or anything.
I finally had to get the broom and "scoot" him out with it and he came out and I got him up on the bed where he still is now.
