New & Improved Squishy?

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Postby demolitionic » January 4th, 2009, 9:14 pm

So, I'm sure many of you remember a while back when I was having trouble getting/keeping weight on Squishy. Well, we changed her kibble & I've added in raw. Here are some pictures as of this weekend.

(Also, please excuse the oversized choke in one picture. She lost hers and we had to improvise & borrow one of the big dog's .)

And this one, because her face makes me laugh:

I'm really glad you suggested raw! Seeing the difference it made with Sirius really finalized my decision, and it's made quite a bit of difference for Squishy. THANK YOU!

You cannot have her! She is my Squishy!

I will loan her, however, for brief snuggle periods. But only insofar as I can have Inara. Make it happen! Go!

Thank you, Missy! She needs a playdate - bring Kinzyl and Gotty over!

I wish I could, I think Gotty would fall for her so bad. He is such a big moosh and she is so gorgeous. He would be too busy drooling over her and Kinzyl would want to run and play.

We're (Squishy and I) both a little moony over Gotty. And Squish is a running, playing, obnoxious fool. Gotty would have to keep up if he wanted to keep drooling - it's a perfect system. Now ship them both to me

Thank you! She was really not looking so great a while back. I'm very grateful for the difference the food change has made.

What a difference! I'm guessing you're not so embarrassed to walk her now? ;) Jeez...she's just so beautiful! And her name always makes me :giggle:

Oh, I've always walked her. Even when she was too skinny. Even though I did get asshole comments. :rolleyes2:

She's on lead in this picture, because at my new place, I don't have a fenced yard, and she has to be on lead when I take her out to potty. Except for where she's on the deck, hopping about maniacally. For some reason, it just makes her hop like a douchebag. I have no idea why.

But it IS nice to walk her and get more compliments than "JESUS DONT YOU FEED YOUR DOG?!" comments.

Although her gas now is smellier than EVER. :puke:

I totally sympathize. Patrick was impossible to keep weight on until we started him on raw. When he was growing he was eating almost 3lbs of raw a day just to keep weight on!

Now, when we board him I have to fatten him up before dropping him off because he has ADD and doesn't eat well in a kennel environment.

I'm with you in that boat. She was eating a ton of kibble and still looked ill thin. So I switched her kibble and she eats less and I added in raw. She's also getting more exercise, because I'm a lot closer to my mom and she has acreage where we can play for hours and she can zoomie her head off unrestricted. I'm really happy with her progress.

I haven't had her for long but I'm so gone over the little dweebus.

Wow she looks awesome Amanda!!! I'm glad that the raw is working for her.

What are you feeding for raw? When I first met Blue 2 years ago he was on raw and had the most disgusting stinky farts EVER!! So when I finally brought him home 3 months ago I was afraid for my nose when it came to switching him back over to raw.

Well apparently the way I feed agrees with his stomach far more than the way he was fed raw before. So maybe a change in the way you feed would help? I dunno, just throwing some ideas out there as my nose feels for yours ;)
