The links not working for me (maybe 'cause I'm at work?). Is it possible to copy/paste the list of products into this thread?

Thanks for posting this, Jody!

I hope the threat of losing money over this is enough for some of these sponsors to back out. I know I will be busy writing letters and making calls.

Anybody who starts writing, calling, etc, would you please list the addresses and numbers for the rest of us? I'm sending this list out to EVERY rescue and dog person I know and it will be easier to get more letters out with specific addresses!

When I get back home later today, I'll start making a more comprehensive list.........

I was just asking Jody, do you think it would help if we came up with some kind of template response that people could tailor to their words? In my experience quite often people don't get their message across because either 1. they aren't sure what to write so they just don't or 2. they are so angry that their message gets lost.

Just throwing ideas out there!

Yeah, absolutely post some sample letters/emails.

For everyone: PLEASE keep your letters respectful, short, and to-the-point. That will make more of an impact!

Super great Idea.............This would especially well for sending out requests for friends/family who may not really know the whole story, may not own dogs, may have been living in Antarctica or somewhere...
who would like to speak out, but not sure what to say............!!!!!!!!!!

The one I've done so far was short and sweet as you had a limited number of characters you could write. It was something along the lines of, "a team like the Eagles that hires somebody like Vick doesn't deserve a sponsor of your caliber. As long as you continue to sponsor the Eagles, my friends, family and I will not purchase or consume your products. I have also posted on a public forum encouraging others to do the same."

I took Liz's example and just tailored it to me to give other people an example:

As a long time and dedicated customer, I felt compelled to write you concerning this matter.

Any NFL team that hires somebody like Vick doesn't deserve a sponsor of your caliber. When I found out the Eagles signed him yesterday I was extremely disappointed. I then found out your company is a sponsor for the Eagles. I wanted to let your company know that as long as you continue to sponsor the Eagles, my friends, family and I will not purchase or consume your products.

I have also posted on a various public forums encouraging others to do the same.

I feel very badly for a friend of mine who does corporate promotions for one of the companies that sponsors the Eagles. Not that it should deter people from boycotting (as I will be). Her territory is the Philadelphia region and she sets up all of the Eagles game promotions. She is actually a Steelers fan and a huge dog lover. I know this is very hard on her.

Maybe she's the one that called me from the J & J company, very perturbed and scolding in her tone; upset that I had posted a boycott of their products without doing 'my homework' first.....

the following is my face book comment, so if you've already seen it, no need to read further...

that their company is going to have to PAY for Vicks' mistakes.....that their company LOVES animals and has a long reputation for being animal advocates. I tried to explain to HER, that I was, indeed sorry that J & J has to 'suffer' or pay the price, but "welcome to the world of endorsements and sponsorship in marketing.....
She scolded me for not doing my homework, and doing a little more research into the history of the company, in regard to the good they do for animals.
I explained to her that what they HAVE DONE is moot; their sponsorship of the Eagles, today, is what the focus is on. ... Read More

I also made sure she understood that she was not speaking to some sort of animal advocacy group member/spokesperson...that I'm "just a mom in Nebraska, with teens and a pitbull that we love'.and that I' "Like millions of other animal lovers who are APALLED that any team would sign on a sadistic animal torturer.
