I prefer turkey necks and backs...more meat and bigger!

Isn't duck really "greasy"?

Depending on where/how the chickens were raised you can get stuff ranging from puny to meaty - but I also prefer turkey. :)

that makes sense. I know they have the extra fat layer with being water fowl...

maybe I'll get turkey necks instead.

I use chicken backs usually with my dogs, necks are too small for the boys... :rolleyes2:
The back has a good meat and bone ratio IMO.

I would say that backs and necks have too much bone to meat ration for every day, but a couple times a week is fine. Or give a back and then some more meat, you know?

I tend to feed chicken necks, but i freeze them in a clump of 2 or 3....

so that they don't inhale them they eat them frozen so they eat a bit slower.

I just bought a case of chicken backs from Palmers and they seemed pretty meaty to me. Not AS meaty as a leg quarter though.

Thank you Ellie! That's exactly what I was looking for! :D

Are the backs big? Like compared to a leg quarter...how big are we talking?

And am I the only one that thinks a neck kind of looks like a penis? :lookaround:
