Hummingbirds are Back!

Anything that doesn't fit into the other three catagories

Sat in my living room today and watched this little girl defend "her" feeder from a boy that just wouldn't take the hint and go away! She won the war after about an hour, then sat on top of the feeder for several more hours, moving only to feed.

Once the weather warms up, I'll set up other feeders around the yard so they all get a chance to feed when they want. So far, I've seen two different females and (I think) two males. Hopefully, they'll bring the babies to the feeders starting around the end of June!

I wish I still had these around. They were so fun to watch growing up. Townhouse living doesn't lend to much wildlife, except for those darn squirrels! >(

She's pretty! Good for her for defending her food!

Oh I love humming birds. They remind me of childhood.

Wes' folks have Hummingbird banding people come to their house every year or so and collect data. They had a returnee from 2008! Pretty neat stuff, one of my favorite locally native birds.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.
