The material and the pattern looked like it would hold-up fine, but lordy, snag-city. :x (oh, and the cats, they did a number on it, too) . . .

I have a cordoroy type and it's held up well to 2 pit bulls that wrestle and jump and dive all over it for1.5 years now. One small snag that you can't really see.

I don't know about the cats though. Maybe get rid of them? :|

my downstairs couch is corderouy, and is at least 20 years old (parents gave it to me 5 years ago.) it has held up to people, cats, and now dogs.. the fur comes off it easily, and the dogs havent ripped it yet(knock on wood)

Oh yeah, my parents had a set of coureroy couches when i was growing up, they gave them to my sis and i when we moved out. They lasted through the animals of growing up and then college parties.
