I took Brownie to see a pet psychic once, and through her, Brownie said that he knew there would be other dogs that would come into my life after him, and I would love them very much, but that he would always have a special place in my heart just for him, that no other dog would ever have. When I heard someone use the phrase "heart dog," I knew right away what they meant.
Here's the "Heart Dog" scrapbook page I made for Brownie:
If you click on the thumbnail, you can see the pictures okay, but you can't really read the text, so I wrote that out here:
The top text box says "Forever In My Heart," the text box below it says "I Will Always Love You." The bottom text boxes say "They say there is one dog in your lifetime that is more special than all the others. Although you may love many others, this one will always hold a special place in your heart -- so they call that one your "Heart Dog." You are my Heart Dog.
