Overheard walking in my new neighborhood...

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby adoptanapbt » January 25th, 2009, 3:28 am

(When I got lazy & walked both dogs at the same time, from 2 10yo boys) "She's walking two pit bulls like it's nothing!"

(Today walking Taffy past a group of mixed age girls) "That dog didn't even bark at us!"

I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

I agree those are the comments you like to hear, but hate the ignorance at the same time.

I get that a lot with Squish.

I kind of like the vicious comments though. Because then I pick her up like a baby and snuggle her and she flails her tail about wildly and licks me.

I stare at them the whole time.

I can't remember the exact phrasing, but there is a found dog poster a block from my new house and the description goes something like: Found dog, tan, doesn't bite, no collar....good with dogs but chases cats, etc.

I live in Irondequoit, New York and I live on the edge of the city limits (Rochester) and I honestly can say that when I walk Sue, I like the fact that quite a few people actually walk to the other side of the street. It makes me feel safe. I walk primarily in the residential area. I live where there are about 50 side streets between two four main roads and I NEVER have any problems at all with people on the side streets, when I walk into the city, it's a different story.
There are three kinds of people: the ones who make things happen, the ones who watch what's happening and the ones who wonder what happened.

Generally when i walk Eli i get 2 reactions depending on who it is..

if it's some young punk they usually look at Eli and tell me he's bad a$$ :rolleyes2:
if it's someone who's not a moron they generally tell me he's gorgeous and either ask to pet him or just keep walking

but of course there are the people who own the froo froo dogs and look at me in horror :rolleyes2:

I spent like 15 minutes convincing this guy that Joxer was quite literally the happiest dog on Earth. Finally, *finally* the guy got up the nerve to pet him and love on him. Joxer promptly whacked him in the balls with his super happy tail. :rolleyes2:

From a guy in front of the kids' gym up the street when I walked Desi past:
"Female?"
"Yup."
"Fixed?"
"Yup."
"Is she mean?"
"Nope."

Can't wait to see what happens now that I start biking/walking each dog this week... :rolleyes2:
