and when it dropped it, was the count high? Or did the Pred. drop the count to "below normal"

Dropped to below normal, and after we discontinued it returned to a satisfactory level.

I totally agree, were it my dog I think I'd be in total denial and would avoid even reading about it... I can't even imagine...

Glad that Seppy is doing good with it so far, and I'm sure some of the extra velcro-ness is due to him, feeling that you know something is wrong...

I think my vet said 7 days between Pred and Metacam, so I would assume, that most of the effects it would have on the system would wear off by then? But I'm not absolutely certain...

Agreed, one of my dogs was on Pred and then on Deramaxx, and our vet just had us wait 10 days between. Considering the dangers of mixing the two I am sure my vet had us wait a sufficient amount of time for the steroids to be totally out of her system.

Don't worry about the pred, Christine!

Seppel is doing great, considering... thanks for asking about him, Dee.

This Friday (26th) will be his third treatment... then we get a week off.

He has experienced some nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but he bounces back fairly quickly. His blood work looks good, and he has made great friends w/the doc and the staff. My stress-level about any behavior issues is just about non-existent, and that makes coping w/this situation 150% easier... I had not fully realized until now how much anxiety Micks treatment caused everyone who was involved w/him. Sepp is the total opposite - always happy, very cooperative, and an absolute trooper.

(When I went to pick him up last Friday one of the vet techs handed me part of his chewed-up leather leash... apparently one of the staff had tied him to a cage before getting him ready for chemo, and about 2 minutes later - there came Sepp, strolling through the hallway, looking for people, treats, and attention... with a piece of his leash still attached to his collar. :shock:

They now know not to ever do that again... LMAO

At home he's usually a little subdued for a couple of days after chemo and doesn't have much of an appetite, but by day three he and Faust are right back to full-blown wrestling matches and mischief galore. You'd never know, just by looking at him, what he's dealing with... I so :heartbeat:

I'm SO glad to hear how well you're both doing with the treatments. I give you all the credit in the world. I can imagine how tough it must be to go through this again.
I know you two are going to kick cancer's a$$!!! :biggun:
