The vet just called Christine and said they're giving her a referral to an oncologist in Charlotte and said she'll talk to her when she gets there. :bs: :cuss:

I just read this thread- I also hope they are just being precautious in referring him to the oncologist. Sending good thoughts for Christine and Sepp. :goodthoughts: :goodthoughts: :goodthoughts:

Christine asked me to post this for her. She just needs some time to digest this.

"o... this is what I was told... Sepp has an enlarged heart, enlarged tonsils, and his WBC is very high. I saw his heart on the x-ray and it really does look huge. His throat is swollen and irritated, but the vet thinks that's due to him trying to "cough up" the swollen tonsils. She did a fine needle aspiration of his nodes and sent that to the lab.
She isn't sure why his WBC is so high, but she said it wasn't an encouraging sign. We see the oncologist tomorrow. I have Ace and Prednisone for him, and he needs to finish up the antibiotic.
She also said it's up to me whether to give him the Prednisone tonight or wait 'til he is seen by the Oncologist. I'm going to wait.
Everyone said he was a wonderful patient and didn't give them any trouble... vet said he was wagging his tail pretty much the whole time he was there, even under sedation.
So, basically I do know that I have a very sick pup on my hands, just don't exactly know what's making him sick yet."
