Jumping For Kato with Team Blabador

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Postby Marinepits » February 5th, 2010, 3:45 pm

As most of you know, Dee just lost her beloved dog, Kato, to cancer.

Team Blabador is currently at the Dock Dogs East Carolina Art & Waterfowl Festival, and have dedicated every jump to Kato. Ten cents per foot of every jump made by Team Blabador will be donated to Chase Away Canine Cancer in Kato's name. If (when  ) any of Team Blabador's dogs finish in the top 3 of their division, an extra $50 will be added to their donation!

Chase Away Canine Cancer: http://www.chaseawayk9cancer.org/

As each member of Team Blabador comes out onto the dock to jump, Kato's name and story are told, so each jump celebrates Kato's life and educates people about canine cancer.

So far, here are the results:

Parker 13'9"
Colby 20' and 21'8"
Paxton 7'4" and 8'5"

One more wave of jumping today, 3 tomorrow, and 2 more on Sunday. I will update with more results as I receive them and Dr Blabs will post pics when she returns!

Much love and thanks go to Ali & Scott, Parker, Colby, Abe, Paxton, Gracie, Stewie, Webster, Penelope, and Goolosh! Fly far Team Blab!

No Ham today. Too cold and he's still nursing a groin pull, but he's being a good cheerleader!

Puppy Paxton is jumping without the wubba being tossed first. :noWay:

They're trying to get this all on video, but the speakers aren't sounding too good with all the pouring rain so you can't hear the announcements. They'll try again tomorrow once the weather clears.....

Hey everyone...

Dee, anything we can do for you, consider it done. We are just heart broken, but we are determined to help if we can. Our hearts are with you.

I have a hard time posting from my phone, so I will text Marinepits and am going to try to get video and sound of the awesome job they are doing announcing Kato and getting the word out. It might snow tomorrow, but I'm hopeful we can get it! It's just a small token for Kato, and Mick, and Trouble, and Indy, and Sophie, and all the other great friends that mean so much to us. We love you guys.
We have a Mastiff... does that count??? :)
