I agree, and I agree. I feel like every month, the dogs on the calendar will be honored when we look at them. I keep looking at Brooks January photo and thinking what a beautiful soul.

April is my Carlos Garcia! :heartbeat:

I had just moved into my house and it was a freezing Jan. day. I saw this dog standing in the middle of the road, sniffing all the cars as they tried to slow down and avoid hitting him.

I left food out for him, then put a leash on him and brought him into the garage. I had Louie, my Lab, and just adopted Bearman. So, I let him sleep in the garage till I could find his owner.

Next day, I had my son and a friend take him around the neighborhood to see if anyone knew him. He broke loose and ran a mile back to my garage. :)

Next night I let him sleep in the den, with Bearman in a crate and Louie upstairs with me. Carlos jumped the baby gate and when I woke up, he was curled up next to my bed in a little corner.

From that moment on, he was mine. I sheepishly looked for "lost dog signs" for weeks. It seems he was dumped because he was very aggressive with men. Tried to bite the one living with me, 3 times. (Smart dog. 8) )

A few months after Louie passed from cancer, I got the devastating news that Carlos Garcia had lymphoma. I kept him on prednisone. He had a wonderful life with me, and I miss him.

Your dogs are all so lucky to have shared their lives with you. I'm sure you feel the same about them.

Yes, that is my little girlie when I first got her! She is still wearing the pink collar from the shelter. We tagged pink/blue so we knew who was what sex.

Thank you, everyone.
Carlos had such THICK, LUXURIOUS FUR. I always said he was part Chinchilla. :giggle:
