We got very bad news about Vincenzo

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

:wave2: Hey there! Dr. Blabs here :prescription: .... (I really do like that nick name  )

Sorry for not seeing this sooner :sad2: ... not on the boards as much as I used to be.

I am so glad that you have an Angel for Vinny  (aside from you, as he will always think of you that way, no matter what :heartbeat: ), and that so far, everything is going well. :helloClap: The people on this board are so amazing and supportive. :hug3: What a great extended family it is! :groupHug:

I will continue to send you :goodthoughts: and our very best! :beerChug:

Thank you, Dr. Blabs! Vin and I are very happy to hear from you. You are 100% right about the people on this board. We feel understood and loved here.

Vinny had his 3rd chemo today. I was not there this time because of a hectic schedule at work and at Dr. B's. She got a good vein first try! Yay!!!! His blood work came back looking as she expected -- platelets were up *good*, white cells were down (but not enough to stop chemo), he is still anemic (but the number is up from 19 to 21 since last week), calcium was normal, BUN was still high slightly, Creatinine was normal. Vin gained a pound, he is up to 60.1 lbs. woo hoo! Vincenzo is laying here relaxing now with the other boys, doesn't show any signs of side effects yet. He is famished as always these days and has eaten well tonight. We are cutting the Prednisone again starting tomorrow.

Vinny and I are very blessed to have you all to go along this journey with us. As always, many thanks and much love!

Hi Everybody!

Vincenzo got Chemo #4 today, the Vincristine again. I'm hopeful for no side effects because he did very well last time he got it. I asked today to get the name of Vin's protocol, it's a modified Wisconsin protocol. His bloodwork looks really good! BUN is coming down at a decent rate and close to normal, creatinine is normal, liver numbers are normal, calcium still normal, platelets and white cells are looking good for where we are in all of this treatment. He is still anemic, but the number came up quite a bit. No sign of infection or excess fluids.

AND to top it all off --- ***drumroll*** ---

VINNY GAINED 4 POUNDS!!!!!

He is now up to 64.2 lbs.! Dr. Blakeley will do an xray next Tuesday to check the tumor and make sure Vinny's lungs are still looking clear. Pred is cut again starting tomorrow and we will continue the Benazapril.

Always and forever -- thank you all for the good thoughts, prayers, vibes, and everything good you've sent Vinny's and my way!
