Great, great, great news. It's a shame that little dew claw wants to cause a problem :nono:
Hang in there Indy, you'll be without that club foot before long.

Today was a GREAT day!

Indy's owie looks FANTASTIC and is about half the size it was -- I'll post pics later today.

Looks like Tuesday will be the day that he graduates to a plain soft bandage with no splint! And the best part is, he's healed enough for us to make our first appointment with the oncologist. As soon as Dr Blabs gives the "all clear", we'll set-up the appointment to get ourselves established with their office and get a treatment plan ready-to-go.

FINALLY!!!

Well, we ended up going in today because his bandage started to twist again and his dew claw was causing him some discomfort.

BUT, we left with his new soft bandage! :confetti:

Dr Blabs had Dr C (the senior vet who specializes in orthopaedics) look at Indy's footie to make sure he had full range of motion and that he was completely ready for the soft bandage and Dr C said  He manipulated Indy's ankle joint all around and was very pleased with the results! He did say that he thinks Indy may have a small spot (about the size of a nickel) on the right side of the owie where it may not heal -- if so, Dr Blabs will take Indy back into surgery and use some stitches to "pull" that area together.

Dr Blabs did the Happy Dance, LOL. I was doing it on the inside, and burst into happy tears on the way home. :D

Tomorrow, I will call the oncologist to set up our appointment. Thursday, Indy goes back for a bandage change and he'll also get his preliminary chest xrays for the oncology visit.

He FREAKED out when we took him off the treatment table and his toes on the boo-boo foot actually touched the ground for the first time in five weeks, LOL. He was jumping around and LOOKING  at his foot, then he started drooling and licking his toes like a lunatic! LMAO

All the way home in the Jeep, he was licking his toes. He managed to shred the bottom of the bandage before we even left the vets' parking lot. :rolleyes2:

Right now, he's still hopping around on three feet and acting like he has his hard bandage on. He did manage to stand on all four feet when he was eating dinner, but jumped out of his skin when he realized his toes were touching the ground. Then he was back to hopping around on three feet. :crazy2: Oh, and he tripped and crashed face-first into the stairs when he tried to use the boo-boo foot for support. :lol3:
