Indiana Jones

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Colby did his very, very best this weekend. 8) The water was absolutely FRIGID, and it affects poor Colby's joints so that he can't run as fast as he would normally. :sad2: But, boy did he try!!! :bounce: He got up to 22'4" for his first competition, and the announcer announced he was jumping for his buddy who was just diagnosed with cancer. He came in 4th of over 40 dogs, which isn't too bad for his first time out this year.

Sooo.... Colby saved up his bones and kisses, and we managed to get $75 to donate in Indy's name to the Chase Away Canine Cancer foundation through the ACVIM. :greenRibbon: He offered to give up his Wubbas, but I told him the ACVIM doesn't love them as much as Colby does. :rolleyes2:

Colby also wanted to tell you that he is going to South Carolina this weekend, and his goal is the same...jump his heart out for Indy!!! Maybe he'll get that 23 footer this weekend. :heartbeat: :highfive: :heartbeat:

Awwww, Colby!!! Thank you so very much!!! And great job on that fourth place!

And thank you for being so brave in that COLD water! Enjoy that warmer water in SC.

Ya think? You know I'm psychotic like that. :rolleyes2: :lol3:

Yup, surgery is Tuesday! I'm in the process of re-arranging the house so Indy doesn't have to do too many steps and so that the others will not pester him, step on him, etc. He has a new super-comfy bed that will stay next to our bed so we can keep watch on him, his crate is coming up from the basement to the main level, and I've chipped up most of the ice from the yard so he can do his business without sliding all over the place and re-opening his wound.

I bought him some chicken and rice just in case he gets an upset tummy from the meds and/or the anesthesia, and I have some beer and chocolate for me. I think we're set.

Enjoy your vacation, Dr Blabs, and I hope your crew kicks some serious butt this weekend!

Jenifer, I am with you on making things comfortable for the dogs. I am probably more anal about the dogs than I am when Travis had surgery.

No doubt, I was particularly impressed with the chipping up of the ice in the yard

Indy will be FINE!!! :heartbeat: :)

I refuse to accept another crappy year called 2009. >(

Will be sending extra-good thoughts for his surgery this Tuesday, even though you have the best vet, and good thoughts are just the icing on the cake! :hug3:

We will do our best and jump for Indy. He isn't far from my mind, though. I have run his surgery in my head about 100 times. Now who's anal?!?! ;)
