Oh and this will blow your socks away - total cost for the consult the night before and surgery was - Are you ready for this one???
$99.50

The incision is already healed, Dr F. always uses internal sutures and glues the top layer like a plastic surgeon to Keep them from scratching and causing damage.HappyChick wrote:How is her incision? I hope it's healing nicely.

Just a quick update she's had some pretty severe mobility issues - two instances where she wouldn't move at all. We were instructed to get the weight off and start Rimadyl. The initial dose was large enough to get her back on her feet, but once she was mobile to back it off to a minimal maintenance dose. We have to be cautious, the Rimadyl caused her liver enzymes to rise once before. We were seeing a definite boost with the introduction of the Rimadyl. She was moving about much easier.
She currently is on prednisone because of a place she chewed raw on her hip; of course that meant stopping the Rimady prior to the prednisone. There have been awesome results with the prednisone for the reason we gave it to her AND for the mobility. She is definitely getting about well right now - a combined result, I am sure, of the meds, the weight loss, and the additional supplements. I plan to take her in for an official 'weigh in' on Friday. I'll post the actual weight loss.
We need to get some pics of her while she's feeling so well. Sunday she was RUNNING around the yard! Will post pics when we get a couple.
