Kato is beating cancer

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Postby CinderDee » September 17th, 2007, 7:14 am

Hi everyone,

About a month ago, Kato started coughing one evening and sounded like he had something stuck in his throat. I went over to take his collar off and his lymph nodes were huge. I checked the others and they were all enlarged too.
He went to the vet on that Sunday and has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He had his first chemo treatment on the 19th and is doing very well.

I feel confident that he'll go into remission and I'll have much more time with him.

Here's a pic of him relaxing in his favorite bed, which is way too small for him! lol

How stressful! I'm glad to hear he's doing well and you're so upbeat!

as you know I wish you and kato all the best, I don't think I could be as graceful in handling this as you've been, Dee.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

Thanks very much everyone! :groupHug:

Kato's doing really well, as am I! It's stressful, but we have a lot of support and I know he's going to beat it!

He has a blog, so feel free to check in and comment if the mood strikes you! :)

Now I will say it: "TOLD YA SO!" I knew he would get through this. He has a wonderful Mom who treats him like the King that he is!

Kato is officially in remission!!! :band:

He went for chemo and a check of his nodes today and the Oncologist confirmed it. His bloodwork was perfect, he gained 1/2 pound and looks great! We'll continue chemo for 20 more weeks as planned.

Thanks for all the good thoughts!
