RIP Paw Paw

Postby luvmyangels » July 11th, 2006, 11:14 am

Two Sunday's ago my neighbors (Paula & Charlie) called me in a panic saying Paw Paw can't get up please come over and look at her. When I got there she was laying on the couch rapid breathing. Paw Paw lifted her head and gave me kisses though. I told them to take her to the vet. After a lot of testing they found it was a slipped disk in her back but while they operated on her they found something suspicious on her bone and sent it out for testing. It was cancer. They gave her a month or so to live. She came home this past Friday and my neighbor came over to me yesterday saying they had to put her down yesterday because she couldn't stand anymore and was losing her bowels and was in visible pain.

The hard part about this whole thing for my neighbor is that her daughter died at age 21 from a bone cancer which was rapid just like Paw Paw's and couldn't all be removed.

RIP Paw Paw and I hope you meet Dawn up there.

That is so very sad and scarey that they both died of the same thing. I'd start to think it was environmental and look into the ater and soil in the area.

RIP.

Not that it is much confort ,but least they are together and pain free now

Sorry for your loss

Sorry I did not explain this but her daughter actually died 19 years ago. But there are definite environmental concerns with regards to cancer in general on Long Island. Although there was just a study that was done that says there is no correlation between Long Island and cancer. Yeah ok!!
