Sofie

Suzanne adopted Sofie when she was 6 months old. Sophie was quite a handful with her separation anxiety and chewing through kennel doors! For a small Lhasa/Terrier mix, she was quite feisty.

Sofie was fortunate to have Suzanne as her Guardian Angel. Suzanne works at a Vets office, so not only did Ms. Sofie Pants go to work with her sometimes, she got the best care imaginable.

Sofie recently celebrated two milestones. One was her 14th birthday! :) That would be over 70 in human years. The other was being a 2010 PBT Cancer Calendar Warrior. She was diagnosed 9/26/2009 with Sinonasal Carcinoma. She is our Miss August.

It is with a sad heart that I am posting in this section. To Sofie, I ask that you watch over Suzanne and now be her Guardian Angel. To Suzanne, I cry with you.

Suzanne made a video that I hope she will share with us.

*tears* Nice tribute, Joyce.

Suzanne...we're all here with you...crying with you, grieving with you...we're all here for you. :hug3:

Oh Joyce :bigCry: :bigCry:

That was beautiful, thank you so much.

Here's a video I made in remembrance of Sofie. The poems are not mine, they are pieces of poems I found online that i really believe/like what they have to say. When I first heard this song a few weeks back I was like "This is the song for Sofie."

I miss her so much.

Just when I thought I didn't have any tears remaining in me, I watched Sofie's video.

Suzanne, I loved the poems you used. And the hearts in the words just added more to the emotions.

I am so sorry for your loss. :sad2:

Oh Suzanne...what a beautiful tribute video...I shed more tears, but I also had a HUGE smile on my face, seeing how much love she had and received...and what a wonderful life she had. :hug3:

Thank you everyone. I just miss her so much. I thought I'd share a poem someone sent me from the kidney group I joined literally a week before Sofie got really sick. I think it's kind of cool and best describes all of you here. Like I keep saying I really appreciate you all, my friends and family around me are very caring but most of them don't view their pets the way we do, it is nice to be able to grieve and talk with people that I know understand what I am going through. That is isn't just a dog, and that I can't just get a new one.

:hug3: Thank you so much everyone for being there for us this entire year.

I've lost a friend I didn't know,
The message came today,
Propelled through wires at speed of light,
From near or far away.

A noble friend, of ancient blood,
A staunch and mighty guard,
A loving comfort, hero,
A loss that would hit us hard.

She left behind a family
And friends to mourn her death.
She left behind a wash of tears,
As she drew her last breath.

Computer networks span the globe
And contact now is found
With folks that we may never see
But feel with touch profound.

The dots of light on screen of glass
Shape words of joy or pain,
We teach and learn and share our lives
And blessings deep we gain.

So now I sit with sniffling nose,
A tear runs down my face,
I share a loss and try to find
Pure words of peace and grace.

A dog has died, but more than that,
A precious life has passed.
We take them in, they bless our lives,
Then leave us much too fast.

God grant us peace and mem'ries long,
Our short-lived friends to keep,
In stories, images, and thoughts,
To calm us as we weep.

Now, lightning's brother, speed my words,
Through fibers, disks, and such.
May cold computer magic turn
To caring, human touch.
Rest in peace,
Sweet, gentle, brave Sofie.
