Rest in Peace, Lori and Elizabeth

This is so very sad...and such a waste...

I didn't realize it was the Lori I knew until last night when they showed her myspace page - I said "Jeff, that looks like...could it be HER...??"
And I went there to myspace, typed in her email address and the page I'd just seen on TV popped up - and just like that, I realized, it was really she they'd been talking about on the news all along.

I met her when she ran an ad asking for help with some Border collies. Actually she wanted to sell them.
I finally wrote and asked if they were fixed and she said "no", and she was worried the dad would impregnate the daughters, so I offered to take them and fix them for her. She agreed, and brought them to me. She also agreed to let us adopt them out.

Sadly, one was human aggressive and had to be put down, but the other was sweet and went to a very nice home.

Later, Lori and we "exchanged" goats. She took one of ours and gave us two younger ones, in exchange for using our buck to breed.
We never got to that point and the dreams she had for baby goats faded.

The last time we saw Lori, she had bird cages she was giving away.
We knew OF her situation but didn't know it intimately but knew she was a good person at heart and cared about people and animals (despite the Border collie thing, which didn't repeat itself).
Because of her situation, despite her not asking for money for the cages, we wadded up a $20 and shoved it her way before we left. She looked shocked but mumbled a quiet "thanks" as we left.

She always had things for sale.
A time or two before, we purchased a small fridge from her, too, for our dog vaccines, but usually we just bout things from her help her out, financially.

She really was a good person.
When the news story broke, I was sickened at the loss of life, so senseless as murders always seem to be.
I was sicked again last night when I realized that it WAS her, and this news story became a bit more personal to me at that point.

I will miss her...

Oh, what a tragic way for a young life to end. :( It is times like this that I believe in Heaven, and know Mom and daughter will be together.

I keep asking myself that same thing. WTF...you know? She was only trying to help this kid who is shown SMIRKING on TV every time they show the clip of him going to court. It makes me just SICK.
And what's worse is, Lori was alive when they found her...she died en route to the hospital :(

Exactly. All murderers scare me - but it's those that seem to show no remorse that really send chills up my spine. I just don't get how you develop into that kind of person.

I know :/ It's terrible to think that she was so close to help but couldn't hold on any longer.
