They are Americaunas. You can always tell these babies from other breeds b/c the babies look like they have chipmunk stripes on their back and cute little puffy cheeks. They will lay beautiful green eggs in about 6 months.

If you goto the Backyard Chickens site, you will find that MANY people have just a few chickens in their backyard. Alot of towns will allow you to have up to 4 or 6, no roosters. Silkies are great for that. They look like cats.

I know, but I pretty much have no yard (200 sq. ft.) and so it will have to wait *sigh*

I have a friend that found a hen in her backyard a year or so ago...came right in, even though she has like 15 dogs. lol

She gave it to a friend who lives on a farm...her name is Buffy Marie now, and she comes and goes in the house too.
