All my new rattie boys

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Postby luvmyangels » February 24th, 2008, 9:38 pm

With all the stress that has gone on in my house over the last 6 months I decided to drown it in getting new ratties.

Here are the boys:

Melvin (hairless) & Oliver are thinking here comes that crazy lady with the camera again.

I see you with my one eyeball.

Here I am!!!

Toby and Gus wish I didn't just get them with the flash. Poor Gus is squinting. Bailey is off to the left hiding.

These are my 2 newest boys who I got through a rescue last night. I have never had PEW's before but they are the sweetest little things.

This is Mr. Scruffles:

The first rat I ever fell in love with was a PEW. She taught me all about rodentistry . . . usually with forceful entry

Your boys are all so gorgeous!

I miss having ratties. I'm glad my two old boys are living the lives of kings (literally, they have a castle) with Hoyden and her girls. If I ever have a house where I can have a separate small animal room you'd best believe I'll be getting some more ratties. Especially some big squishy boys!!

I got the hammock through Mainely Rat Rescue which is where I just got my 2 PEW boys from. It is a very heavy warm fleece hammock.
One of their volunteers made a bunch of hammocks so that they could sell them and put the money towards their expenses. I am not sure if there are any hammocks out of that batch left but they have more on their site and there will be more made by the same person soon.

Thanks! It just looks so warm and snuggly! :) Probably not what they need for the upcoming seasons...but good to know where I can find one!

Hadn't thought about the hairless...:giggle: I see why you need snuggly warm hammocks all year 'round! Of course!

I got lucky and got a cool brand-new fabric tube (for ferrets) at the last pet expo for $2! The 'goo girls are loving it...they crawl through it and sleep in it. It's cute...I've got some pics to upload soon!

If I am not mistaken it stands for Pink Eyed White. The blue boy in the 1st picture (which really looks gray) Oliver (my kids wanted me to name him Remy from the movie Ratatouille but I didn't) is the sweetest rat I have ever had. When I was under the weather and up at 3 in the morning I took him out of the cage and he sat with me for 45 minutes and didn't make a peep or move. I just sat and kept petting him. Mr. Scruffles seems to have the same personality as Oliver. Everyone else is extremely active and I can hold them and pet them for a few minutes but they'd rather be off exploring.

I have 3 dogs. One of which has a high prey drive and there are times I see her looking at the rats through their bars. I yell at her and she backs off. Knuckles my APBT got too close once and got nipped on his nose. His expression was priceless.
