Salamandies

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Here are some new pictures of my growing salamandies. They are doing ok. Well one is fantastic, his color is bright, he is fat and healthy. The other one is a good eater but he is pale in color and looks thinner than the other. I think we will try a waxworm, yucky!!!

Remodeled the house:

Well I hope the other one makes out ok. The one looks pretty dang happy.

I knew nothing about Sals but I joined a forum. I posted on their about hibernation, the one that isnt doing so hot and posted some pictures of my tank and salamanders. I am sure they will bash me as they do all the other people who post pictures on their. So we will find out soon about the hibernating thing!

They don't usually hibernate, unless they live in very cold climates...

I *think* they typically have a hibernation period but don't "need" to? :|

The smaller pale one may have internal parisites, it may be best to seperate them so you know he is eating...

They look very neat :)

Oh yes they bash like you would not believe for having not enough plants or too little water or the rocks dont look right... anything!!!

I know for a fact the other is eating. They eat in front of me now and during the day which I was told they are nocturnal. I know the pale one eats. He was the only one who ate last night. How do I deworm a salamander?

They should change it to Salamander-Labrador Talk. That'd be so much better.

No its not...lol. Its is cauldata I think. Something like that I have no idea. Well they told me my substrate was a little too moist but other than that it looks ok! :elephant: Woo hoo I didnt get bashed too much!! they also said on my forum that I could send them into hibernation by moving their cage outside and keep them under 40 degrees that will also help them breed in the spring! I say no thanks. They are fine in my room and why would I want more?! I found out they live 20 years and can get more than 13 inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
