Dock jumping event

Weight pull, Protection, Agility, Flyball... you name it!

Postby Maximusflys » February 15th, 2007, 7:13 pm

There will be a dock jumping event next month from the 7th to the 11th in Long Beach. If you have a confident swimmer and would like to give it a shot, I would be willing to help out and get your bully jumping big. There are levels for all dogs, even if your dogs jump one foot you will still get a placement medal and if your dog can jump 5 times you can get the dog titled and add another achievement to your dogs list. It's great for the breed and Maximus is a crowd pleaser as he is different than your typical labs that dominate the sport. If you have any questions just let me know and I will help you the best I can.

There was an event there last year at the shot show that I was not able to attend and I am hoping that there will be one this year. I will let you know if anything comes up in that area.

Excellent pic!

I know my girl Hopscotch would take to dock diving! Too bad you're clear across the country!

There are plenty events in your area, might not be directly in your hometown but a few of them at least a few hours away. Checkout http://www.dockdogs.com
http://www.splashdogs.com, http://www.jumpincentral.com and http://www.ultimatairdogs.com. And look under events and you should find a jump nearby. I know dockdogs hasn't fully released their schedule for the year, but I would keep a lookout. If anyone has any questions just let me know, there are clubs all over the country and I know dockdogs will be having more than 100 events this year and I believe they have a contract in the works for 26 episodes on animalplanet at selected events this year. The midwest seems to have most of the events throughout the year and I know michigan also has alot of events held by ultimateairdogs.

Awesome info....do you have info about clubs in the DC area...I have a lab...she's a very strong swimmer (I mean, duh, she is a lab)....but we're having trouble getting her to jump off the dock near my house (except when we load her up and give her the bite word)...

The closest club to you would be the chesapeake dockdogs club. They are located around Maryland and Northern Virginia. I f you are interested I could get you in contact with the person running that club.
