Inara ran the whole course on Saturday!!!
I was so excited - I was jumping up and down and cheering. I felt silly, but my instructor was just as excited!
Ellie, the only class being offered was not by my instructor who I trusted. Inara had a couple "incidents" in class where she flew right by me on a recall and went to other dogs. No harm done at all (well, her face got scratched), but it made me nervous. So the instructor doing the group class said she already has another pit in there like that and doesn't want two. So my instructor (do I need a flow chart?
) offered to do individual sessions with me to get Inara trained for the sport w/o distraction. However, now that she has the basics down, it will be time for distractions soon. But she's made so much more progress in two 45 minute private sessions than she did in six one hour sessions! I also purchased a fabulous flyball harness with a nice big handle so that she can't zoom right by me anymore!
