Cynosport Championships 2006

What a wonderful weekend. The weather was great, the people were great and the venues were awesome. They had Flyball championships going on, Lure coursing, Agility Championships, Frisbee Championships and of course my favorite Splashdog Championships. Maximus finished Super Vertical in 5th place overall, and placed 7th overall in Big Air. Super Vertical finals was on Saturday morning and placed in 5th and later on that day I jumped him to get qualified for the Big Air finals on Sunday and jumped a 19' footer and as he was exiting the pool off the ramp he normally shakes the water off and when he did this he lost his footing and fell 5 feet down directly on his back. He shook it off and I didn't see any problems, so I thought no big deal. Come Sunday for Finals I did a couple of practice jumps before it started and I that's when I knew something was wrong. He had lost all confidence on that dock and was not jumping like normal, it was actually his speed coming down the dock that was not normal, he was pretty much just galloping down the dock and than jumping. I am still pretty proud of him for placing 7th and now we have to back and start from scratch and build that confidence back up. I need to change a few things anyway so it will be a good thing. My friend "Labpaw" from SplashDogs' forum and I are going to practice dock diving with her labs on Sunday -- I can't wait! I may bring Mac along to see if he enjoys it. :wink:

Yeah that's pretty much all I have, I do Have pictures of other dogs jumping but that's it of mine.

Here's a training secret of ours and where we practice at!!! SSHHH, you have to keep it a secret though!!! :wink3:
