I've been a Pit Bull owner since 1984. I received my first pup as a gift. Her name was Molly & was a great companion.
We lived in St Louis till we moved to Tulsa OK about 10 years ago.
She died of thyroid cancer two years after we moved there. I received another Pit Bull Puppy as a gift. Her name was Woodog.
She lived for 10 years & moved back to St Louis with me about a year and a half ago. She died last year.
While I was in Tulsa OK, I became involved with a Pit Bull rescue. I was in it for 4 years & fostered many dogs. We found homes for all my fosters. I wound up adopting 2 dogs:
Booker, a female, who is now 7 years old.
Erica, a female, who is also 7 years old. Erica has a sad history. She was found hanging by her back legs with a knife in her neck. She was in a hot warehouse in July. Her barking is what saved her. I took her because the rescue couldn't get her adopted. She is shy & skiddish at times. Since I've had her, she's come a long way. Last year she came down with Cushings disease. All the hair on her sides & back fell out. When it grew back in, it came back curly. She looks like a cross between a Poodle & a Pit Bull.
Two years ago, I adopted another Pit Bull, Buddy. He was 8 months old at the time. He came from a shelter in Fulton MO. He's quite a character. He's smart but acts like a monkey! I've been training him myself & he can be so stubborn, but I love him anyway!
Here's all three of them on the sofa:
