Hello everyone, :greenWave:

My name is Brian and I live in San diego CA. I own a 4yr. old Pit Bull named Maximus. He is definitely one of the greatest joys of my life and we spend alot of time together. We do a couple of sports which are flyball and Dockjumping which is his favorite. I look forward to getting to know most of you and I plan on learning alot from here.

I am at work so I don't have many pictures with me at the moment but I do have a couple that I would like to share and I will do that as soon as I figure out how to upload them on to here. :beatComp:

I got Maximus at a time when it was a big fad in my area and I didn't know any better but I have learned alot and things have changed over the years and I am sure glad I have him now. Here is a couple of pictures from this past weekend that I had in my e-mail box of him jumping. I hope you like them.

Welcome! :hello5:

Dock jumping is so cool! I like to watch the Retrievers on the TV sport shows. Does Maximus do the same type where they jump for distance?

Maximus looks like he is having a great time.

I have siblings in Riverside, Laguana Beach and Mission Viego (?) but I don't like them, so I never visit them. :devilWink: I am in NY.

Yes he does, his best jump is 22'11" and is one of the top Pit Bulls in the country. He is improving at every event we attend and is going to be competing at Nationals next month in Scottsdale AR. He absolutely loves it. This is pretty much the only time I have no control of him except when he gets on the dock and he than gets focused other than that I can't control the barking or the pulling on the leash at these events. The crowd really loves him well most of them, there's just some people that believe that these dogs shouldn't be off leash or in the public :x . He is definitely different than your typical Labs in the sport and he has great style when he is in the air. I was invited to Nationals by another company and I declined the invite as they chose to have the event where Pit Bulls are banned so there was no way I was going to take the chance of something happening. I am looking forward to next month and I have started a strenous conditioning program to get him ready. I hope he gets in the 23' foot range but if not we will be sure to have a good time. New York I believe just had an event called the kiki classic a few weeks ago, too bad I didn't find this site earlier, maybe you could have tried it out. If anyone else is interested I could point you inn the right directions depending on where you live. So just let me know.

Twenty-two feet and eleven inches!!! That is phenomenal!

Congrats on his accomplishment at being one of the top Pit Bulls in the country. Do you have videos you can post of his trials?

My Labrador is afraid of water. He only likes sitting in the rain. :shake:

I do have video but only in his beginner days jumping in the 15' range but I will try to post it later on, he also has the record for the highest jump which is a new sport where they suspend a bumper 8' out over the dock and they set the heights from there and he holds the record for a bully at 6'2" and the world record is at 7'8" by a greyhound/coonhound mix. Here is a Link of him doing extreme vertical as it is called. He will never be able to excel much more than that as he is alot shorter and bulkier than most of the dogs that participate in this sport, but hopefully in the next year or so they will have different classes according to height. the world record holder is at 33" and Maximus is only 18" it is an unfair advantage for him.

We have been doing flyball for about 7 months, he should be ready for his first tourney in Feb. The team i am on will be competing for western regionals next month but I will be competing at Nationals for dock jumping on the same weekend, for me dock jumping comes first and I think Maximus likes it better also as long as the water is not cold.
