Hello Everyone!
I'm Elizabeth; my husband and I have 2 human children, one 16 month APBT girl named Helena, and a very old but feisty cat named Kaylie.
We recently moved to Fort Lauderdale from a suburb of Cleveland.

After more than a year of deliberating over what breed of dog would best fit our family we decided to adopt a pit bull. Neither of us had any specific bully-breed experience, but we did plenty of research.

What we came home with turned out to be a baby with four legs. This girl was able to go to work with dad for her first year of life and has become so attached to him that now when he comes home from work she squeaks and whines and shakes her whole body until he picks her up like a baby!! Not only did she get lots of dad time, but tons of socialization with strangers and dogs alike.

My favorite bully rescue site is spbr.org (Smilin' Pit Bull Rescue). I came across this site today as I was browsing Yahoo video for bullies and saw videos from 'purplesaurous' (they made me cry!)

Hi and Welcome! :greenWave: We would love to see pictures of your pup!

As for spbr, if you do a little reading on this forum, you will find a few threads about it that will change your mind. It's very unfortunate, but not every rescue is "kosher."

I hope you stick around this board, there is a lot of great information here and a lot of experienced pit bull owners.

I had no idea there was so much drama surrounding SPBR. I remember seeing the "missing" dogs. :(
