Before I even met Haven, or saw a picture of him, I was told that he was a pit mix. When he got here I knew right away that he was more American Bulldog than anything. He is such a big lovebug! I think he is a little of everything!
The vet thinks he is about 11 months old now. I think he's a little younger. He's about 60 lbs. now. I have had everyone that met him tell me he looked to be a different age. He just got neutered, finally, a couple weeks ago because he was cryptorchid. I think I was more worried about it than I should have been, but I read too much on the internet that scares me
He does get along with the cats so very well. We have a big, fat, orange cat that likes to take naps with Haven. All of them get along with him. There's just the two girl cats that think they are the Queens of the house and there should be no dogs allowed near them when they are cranky! And that is all the time. No hissing or growling, just the girls staying away from him. They get nicer to him everyday. Luckily, I have had foster dogs here before and they were nervous of them at first but ended up being fine shortly after. I was more nervous with how Haven would be with the cats. When he first came here I was thinking he was pit. Sometimes pit = animal aggression. I have no idea of his previous life other than he and his sister were left adandoned in an empty apartment for a couple weeks before AC took them. We have gone to 6 weeks of obedience classes and we both love it. He loooooooves flirting with the girls
He is one of the best listeners there. He almost always listens to me and my commands. I think we will sign up for the next level up obedience, more for the socialization than anything. I don't know many people that have dogs that deserve to be around Haven to hang out with. Most of them have no manners and cannot be trusted.
