My name is Elisabeth and I am the founder and director of a bully breed rescue based in the Cincinnati Ohio area - Bark Ark Bully Rescue- http://www.barkark.org

Cincinnati currently has a ban and Ohio is the only state with STATE WIDE breed specific legislation, so it is certainly a challenging place to try to save pitties.

I started the rescue in 2005. I was in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina helping with animal search and rescue. The first dog I rescued was a pit bull - the first pit bull I had ever met - and it changed my life forever.

Do you currently own any dogs?

Oh yeah - just in case you're in need of collars/leashes that are super well made, there's a guy in Cincy who makes them: http://www.smalltownamericanbulldogs.com/STleather.html

Thanks for the welcome!

Currently have eight dogs of my own ( including three Old English Sheepdogs, a Cane Corso, and four pitties) and we have about twenty in the rescue at present.

We are getting ready to hold our Second Annual Event for National Pit Bull Awareness Day on October 24th. If anybody is in the Cincinnati Ohio area, please come out to Winton Woods and support the pitties.
