Hi, my name is Rea from Tulsa, OK. I have 2 pit's, Buddy 11 months, and Roxy 7 months. These are my first pit bulls. I have raised Aust. Cattle Dogs for years. They are so very intelligent, I said I would never have any other dog. 2 years ago I had to say goodbye to my best friend in the world. My male blue heeler had cancer and had to go on. I was heart broken.... Well, just like most others, I was uneducated about APBT's and was scared to death of them. My husband had 2 pit bulls growing up and that's all he's ever talked about. I started doing some research, and to much surprise, learned really quick that the breed was not anything like the MEDIA makes them out to be. (THEY WERE TERRIERS, AND WORKING DOGS) We decided to start looking for a puppy. A few months went by and I hadn't found anything I was interested in. Not so sure about some of these breeders if you know what I mean!!!! On our way home one day I saw a someone with a sign on the side of the road selling pit puppies. AND YES I JUST WANTED TO LOOK!!!!! It was the saddest thing ever. They were only 3 weeks old. I asked them what they were doing trying to sell puppies at such a young age, and their response was "THEY ARE EATING SOLID FOOD AND READY TO GO" RIGHT!!! I picked up one that was solid white and just could not believe these little babies were going to be left to fend for themselves. While I was holding him, a car pulled up and a man got out to inquire about the price. I saw that he had 2 other pit bulls in his car with scars all over their faces. He wanted to buy the one I was holding because he was the largest out of the litter. He offered them $150.00. I was not about to let that little white ball of fur end up like his other 2 dogs. I ran to my car got 2 hundred and told him he would not be fighting this puppy. On that day my search for a registered top quality pit bull was over. We nursed him back to health and he has just won my heart over. His name is Buddy aka LittleMan although he is not so little now. He has completed two obedience classes, and has done exceptionally well. Buddy also has a playmate named Roxy, she is a blue/fawn and just as silly as can be. Sorry so long....Just wanted to tell Buddy's story. Don't know how to load pic's. [/img]
