No such thing as a loose leash with Mac. He'll charge right to the end and pull automatically.

but... without the leash on he walked very well, didn't he? Here's an experiment; do the same thing as yesterday and then very quietly clip the leash on. Keep working with him as if it is not there, and if/when he steps out of line give him a small tug on the leash.

He really did -- that's what so weird about all of this! I've never had him off-leash outside before, just because I didn't want him taking off into the woods, chasing whatever wildlife he saw. I was SO surprised when he just heeled without me asking. (I was also very proud of him!)

I think I'll try what you said with a "quiet" leashing. Let's see how slick I can be.

Geeze!

I came here for some help and all you people can do is pick on my choice of training collar! THAT is not helpful! I need to know how to stop my dog from pulling my arm off so he won't escape and become another headline that will make us all look bad and damage this breed's reputation even more! Perhaps I should put him in a harness or use a Gentle Leader instead -- will that make you happy?

I'm taking my football and going home. You guys don't play nice at all. :sad3:

I thought new posts did not work anymore either but I found it, it is now works under unread posts instead of new posts. There you will find posts you have not seen yet.

a prong didnt work for him?? sometimes some dogs can get a hard correction and dont care.. jesse is like that, i would have to hang her off the ground for her to walk nice on her prong.. she still pulls on it..
